This is a childhood passion that turned into one man's onerous mission aimed at ensuring that no one is deprived of this knowledge: the Bates method (how normal eyes see). While not widely known, it is popular in the Western world where it originated.

It encompasses straightforward techniques (which are inherent to us) designed to tackle the overwhelming surge of vision issues that are not only common in Asia, especially in economically advanced countries, but also represent a growing global concern that warrants more than just a fleeting acknowledgment.

To highlight my determination to share the simplicity and effectiveness of this approach for tackling common vision problems such as myopia, presbyopia, and astigmatism — that's the core of the book.

Does such a thing exist? Read the book to uncover more than what you were looking for. You shouldn't spend a lifetime wondering, "Why didn't I learn this sooner!"

Loy Chye Bin has spent years actively promoting the Bates Method in Singapore and researching studiously worldwide to improve and refine NVI techniques, like many Bates teachers before him, in order to benefit more students.

"It is my fervent hope that this simple beacon of hope will reach those who feel unnecessarily burdened by wearing spectacles and many among the populace who could easily be helped by these simple NVI techniques but are not realizing it. I encourage you to learn this method and spread the word to those near and far.

All my efforts will grow from strength to strength as the Bates Method will be carried forward by a new generation of students and teachers for many more centennial celebrations to come. We just celebrated our 100th Year Bates Method centenary in 2020."
